Nautilus Reels Announces New GTS Reel Series

Nautilus Reels announces the release of their new, highly anticipated GTS Reel Series, meant to replace the NV-G series.

The team at Nautilus spent time studying their award-winning GTX Reel Series (high-end, big game reels for larger saltwater species) to see if they could adapt key features and design considerations to this wider-ranging (6- to 11-weight) and smaller series of reels.

From Nautilus: “This reel is lightweight, offers an effortless left-hand to right-hand conversion, has an expanded drag adjustment range and has a sleeker design than the NV-G series (which the GTS is replacing).”

Another standout feature is the spool release cap with a 15/16-inch (24 mm) hex shape: “The same size as a lug nut on a car, so if it ever gets stuck, you can remove it with a standard socket wrench.” The spool release feature is a smart upgrade, given Nautilus spools of the past had a high propensity to get stuck and become problematic when changing lines.

“Seemingly endless hours of careful attention to every detail and aspect of designing this reel was time well spent,” says Kristen Mustad, president of Nautilus Reels.
